From crystal waters to golden cliffs, Malta and Gozo have some sick spots to discover. We’ve rounded up our favorite locations, from the most viral Instagram backdrops to hidden coves, so you can plan the perfect day out with your friends during your awesome Erasmus semester or trip here.

Blue Lagoon Comino

Location: Comino Island, between Malta/Gozo

Currently the most viral spot online, Comino was actually a hideout for pirates and knights back in the day. It blew up in the 20th century because of its movie-set looks and tourist fame. It’s that legendary destination you’ve seen in every travel vlog and it is a total bucket-list essential for your time on the islands.

  • The water here literally looks like a filter.
  • It is amazing for snorkeling and your feed.
  • Total tropical vibes in the heart of Europe.
  • Just a tip: it gets super busy in summer.
St Peter's Pool

Location: Near the fishing village Marsaxlokk

Nature carved out this insane natural pool over thousands of years. It used to be a local secret known only by the Maltese.

  • A natural rock pool with insane clarity.
  • This is the spot if you love cliff jumping into deep blue water.
  • Super raw vibes.
  • No bars here, just wild nature.
Paradise Bay

Location: North Malta, near the Gozo ferry boat

The name says it all: it is a dreamy spot that was once the domain of local sailors. Even if it is popular now, it has a cool energy that you will feel right away.

  • Tiny cove with an amazing atmosphere.
  • Really clear water.
  • Ideal for a quick swim.
  • You get epic views of Comino and Gozo right across the channel.

  • Real gold-colored sand, which is rare.
  • The sunsets here will leave you shocked.
  • Easy to get to with everything.

Għajn Tuffieha

Location: Near Golden Bay, more secluded

Way more chill than the main beach next door, this was always a quiet escape. Its name translates to 'Apple's Fountain' in Maltese, which is pretty rad.

  • Totally wild and natural vibes.
  • You have to handle a long staircase to get down, but it is worth the effort.
